Thankyou so much for posting this! My daughter is 16 years old, and was so offended by this movie and it's camera angles and skin baring scenes, and the robots and their "sexuality??" ... and when she voiced it to her christian brothers in Christ, they defended it, and became "fans" of Meghan Fox on their facebook. It can be so discouraging to be a girl today... having a natural modesty, and being put in the uncomfortable position of being a minority, even among christian youth. We really need the young men to step up to the the call to purity and respect that honors the Lord and their future wives. There are so few young men that stand apart anymore, that the girls who desire a Godly man, all flock to the one or two who seem to "get it". Thankyou for being an outspoken example to all the guys out there... and for showing that it's NOT cool to drool over explicit degrading media. Protect your hearts and minds, guys! Once you have a picture in there, it's not easy to erase... even when you decide you want to. Thanks

I think you have struck a cord that is common for today's movies and even tv shows. People's morals are not the same as a morale that is Christian based and sadly movies and tv shows are run by people whose scruples are low. There are so many movies that could be very good if they just took out the terrible language, the sexual gestures, etc. However, for a plethora of people that is entertaining to them. I just don't understand that...I guess I am conservative, in that respect, like you. By the way I remember my brother having transformers...only a few of them. I thought it was a novel idea and I could see how it could be lots of fun for a little boy :) Thanks for being so bold about this subject. Xie Xie...from my very little Chinese vocabulary.

I am not really interested in Transformers and some action movies, but the media in general does not think anything will sell that does not have something obscene in it, which is very sad and just disgusting. I agree that movie directors and some musicians have taken old songs, movies, books, comics, etc. made them inappropriate and took out what made them so popular in the first place. Honestly, life is so much better without obscene anything in just about every "good" movie. I hope to help change this soon someday.

By the way, great concert and message in Richmond on Sunday night. I brought a friend from my school and she told me if you were ever coming back she wants to go again, so I really hope y'all come back!

Have a great week!

i agree. especially the Megan Fox comment. The scenes with her in them all permiscuous (sp) and such made me really uncomfortable, and thats coming from a straight young women. I would hate to think of how it made strong christian men feel who just wanted to see an action flick. Im glad i wasnt the only one to feel that way.

I agree with your assesment 100% ! It was disheartening to feel like I was the only one offended by the launguage and Needless sexual referances. It makes my spirit sad that Even our childhood loves have lost their innocense. (sorry if my spelling is off..hehehehe) God Bless you and thank you for posting this. :)

I agree with you, I liked the first movie, and was excited to see the second. I was disapointed as well, I get really sick of seeing movies with so much crude humor and so many sexual references. It makes me sick to see that sort of thing and to see peoples reaction to it. I also wonder why they need to put that sort of thing in movies at all, it would be so better without all that. I'm an art student, much of the art that is being produced now is about sin. I try to make my art speak about my faith in Christ, I want others to be able to see that there is something different about me. I don't like pop culture either, I see so much art that reflects the sinfulness of the culture. But like you said, it sells, and thats really sad.

Thank You! Someone out there understands what I tried to explain to my 15 year old daughter. After reading the reviews, I said no, she couldn't see it and explained why. Her response... Mom, you know I wont pay attention to that part. My response to her was that It was my job to protect her from that and to help her make decisions about what is honoring to the Lord and whats not. I also explained that even though she says she may not pay attention, the young guy next to her most definately will . that also is not appropriate. She often gets teased for not getting to see movies her friends see. She mentioned how difficult it is for her to not In a California Girls world, not to be able to see what her friends see. My response... If as a christian, you take a stand to do what God calls you to do and suffer for it, and thats your only "cup of suffering" ...bring it on! Later she apologized for her response to me and agreed. I often wonder if im being to protective, but now I know I'm not alone in my thinking. Thank you for posting your journal about the topic. Its encouraging to know others see the same thing

Wow...I defanitely agree with you Jeff. Even though Ive never watched Transformers 1 or 2 and never had a desire to watch action movies like that lol, thats not the point. The point youre trying to give is how much this world has changed...your boyhood spirit of looking up to these heroes and characters that once brought goodness to the heart are not being distorted and conformed to the patterns of this world, and give off a displeasing taste...especially to those who are followers of Jesus...it hurts to know that this world is coming to this...very lustful, evil, and perverse...God bless you, and there is HOPE for us Christians to shine in the dark of this world. Remember...its all about HIM...

Jeff . . .

thank you for making me smile! When the world just wants us to conform, it's nice to know there's still Godly men like you out there to raise the bar. Reading your entry was refreshing, to say the least. I hope you're all doing well! Keep playing for Him and if you'd like to make me a very happy girl, you guys should definitely come play a show in southern California!! =]
